Prints
In 2002 I received a scholarship to study printmaking with Lisa Mackie at
Anderson Ranch in Aspen, CO. Over the years, many people had commented that
my paintings were reminiscent of monoprints, so I assumed printmaking would
be a natural crossover for me. I was wrong. Having only ever painted, I
struggled to find my own creative voice in print. During lectures, however,
I incessantly doodled. Upon learning a method of printmaking in which
Xeroxes could be used in place of traditional plates, my spontaneous
doodles were (voila!) transformed into whimsical prints.
